Padaung Women
I was star-struck when I met the "long necked women." I felt like a kid, too shy to ask for a picture and like a whale next to these petiteness. My fascination with these women started a long time ago reading National Geographic with their elegant, long necks lengthened by heavy brass rings that they wear till their deaths. Among the explanations for this old practice are that it protects the women from tiger attacks and it is a way of enhancing their looks.
