Chicken Marinara

Leftover marinara spooned over a tasty chicken picatta.

Vegetable Soup

It's amazing what you can do when you have time, no worries, and no where to be. You gather all your vegetables and beans and make a good ole' pot of Katie's soup. Delicious and hearty that you don't even miss the meat.

Marinara

There is something to be said of fresh, homemade marinara. Easy, comforting, and hearty. A meal you feel good feeding your family.

Baby Bok Choy Drizzled with Ume Vinaigrette

Bags of fresh produce from the Wahiawa Farmer's Market encouraged me to try one of the recipes from Alicia Silverstone's the kind diet book. The combination of the oil, the sour of the vinegar and the freshness of the bok choy was delicious.

Auntie Carol and Auntie Caridad

An invitation to Auntie Carol and Caridad's home for a meal is an invitation you do not decline! Good home style cooking in a charming plantation home on the North Shore.
I grew up spending summers with my aunts and my Apo Melchor and Apo Dorica who I adored. They were kind, loving, and generous to our family. Apo Melchor petitioned for my father to come to Hawaii to work on the sugar plantations when he was only 18 years old.

Cookie Decorating

So much fun decorating cookies and just hanging out with Maha and Christine.

Potato Candy

Scott's childhood friend Kevin recently relocated to Hawaii from Minersville, PA bringing with him a great attitude, a book of Schulkyll County recipes, and a plate of potato candy. Sweet, different, and nothing like I've ever tasted before.

Bleenies

You can eat this only once every five years. Lithuanian via Pennsylvania decadence. Greasy, good, and I better end it there.

Cookie Swap

You're invited to the 3rd annual Cookie Swap. Next to rice, cookies are my favorite food. It was pure joy to be nibbling on gorgeous looking and fantastic tasting treats with the people I care about. It was pure joy to be surrounded by all kinds of cookies-confetti, snickerdoodles, red velvet, French pinwheels, shortbread, oatmeal, white chocolate with cranberry and pecans, granola peanut butter cup, ginger, and 2 kinds of biscotti-chocolate and pistachio cranberry.

Little Shop of Horrors at Manoa Valley Theatre

If you get past the idea of going to a theatre adjacent to graveyard, you will enjoy this gem! Fantastic acting and first rate singing in a cute, cozy theater
