Happy Birthday Mom

Happy birthday to the woman who taught me about Oil of Olay, letting a man love you more than you love him, and eating your vegetables. I love you mom!

Miller Ohana

Mele Kalikimaka

There's no snow or freezing cold in paradise but we have the beach, family, and friends to celebrate Christmas. Wishing all of you a warm holiday greetings.

Hawaii Ballet Theater The Nutcracker

My favorite person to see The Nutcracker is still my Anna! We must irritate others as we ooh and aahh and critique and comment throughout the performance. Besides the ballet, we look forward to the Nutcracker Tea, Bake Sale and Nutcracker Shop. She even surprised me this year by purchasing an ornament while I went to the Ladies room.

The Nutcracker

Nutcracker, round 2. I anticipate the holidays, not only for the parties and decorations, but also the Nutcracker. I never tire of this Christmas classic. My favorite is the Hawaii Ballet Theatre's show at LCC, not only because Anna was part of the cast last year but also for the convenience and price.

Cookie Decorating

Anna and I look forward to Auntie Christine's annual party, not only for the catching up we have to do but for her delicious baked goods.

Friends and Family at the Red Pineapple

My crush on the Red Pineapple extends far and wide that I tell everyone about this place. There's something for everyone!

Truffles

One word...decadent. A friend called later that night and told me she and her husband ate them all. Sinfully good!

White Chocolate Cherry Shortbread

If you like white chocolate and if you like shortbread, this cookie would satisfy both craving. I, personally am not a white chocolate fan but this combination is divine.

Red Velvet Cookie

Now who doesn't like a Red Velvet cake? Now, imagine all that sweet goodness in a cookie!

Peanut Butter Granola Chocolate Chip Cookie

This cookie reminds me of an "everything under the sink" kind of cookie, meaning you put everything and anything in the batter. You can satisfy everyone's craving with this cookie.

Ginger Cookies

It wouldn't be a swap without ginger cookies. Two versions appeared at this year's swap-one infused with crystalized ginger and the other adorned with candies. One of my favorite spices and a cookie I never tire of.

White Chocolate and Cherry Twist

So pretty and festive, it would be a crime to break and eat! Just the right amount of sweet and perfect with a cup of tea.

Vegetable Pizza

We needed something to balance all the sweetness of the day. Crescent roll crust, ranch dressing mix topped with colorful vegetables.

Cookie Swap 2013

The annual cookie swap was even bigger, better, and sweeter!

Christmas at Red Pineapple

Grand reopening and ringing in Christmas at the Red Pineapple.

Happy Birthday!

Surrounded by good friends and good food at Ward Centre's Mocha Java makes a birthday special.

Gift Baskets

Red Pineapple's packaging options are just fabulous. Owner Nalani Holiday uses the term "gift baskets" loosely.

Wall Project

Red Pineapple inspired me to create my very own wall of words. I know it's sacrilegious to tear books apart but now I get to read several books at a time!

Kit n Kitchen

Euro Asian Cuisine with hefty portions and reasonable prices. The chimchiri is divine but I am partial to the dover sole.

Chewy Ginger Cookie

Looks like nothing special but a huge hit with everyone-kid, husband, friends, and students! A subtle ginger taste, crunchy edge and just enough chewiness! A special cookie like this deserves to be served in a pretty cup and saucer purchased from my favorite Honolulu boutique Red Pineapple.
