Happy Valentines

Let's celebrate summer with summer rolls and crepes on Valentines. The chocolate desserts, tapioca pudding, cafe lights, red decorations and especially the friends made it a night to remember.

Dancing Deer Baking Co.

All natural ingredients and quirky packaging are parts of a tasty lemon bar-chewy and crunchy with fresh citrus taste.

Nutella Banana Bread

I am obsessed with Joanne Goddard's blog A Cup of Jo-classy, quirky, and fun! I especially like her hair tutorials and this banana bread swirled with nutella which was not only yummy but gorgeous!

Superbowl

Superbowl Sunday should be deemed a holiday with every American glued to the tv to watch the game. Football fans anxiously await the arrival of this sacred sports day while I look forward to the food. This is the first time I witnessed kids, parents, AND grandparents enjoying the half time show featuring Bruno Mars.

Light in My Home

The morning light in my home is just lovely.

Punahou Carnival

The Punahou Carnival's malasadas are worth the traffic, parking nightmare, and long lines. We always find good deals at the book sale but the greatest find was my father's name in the 1969 Honolulu phonebook. How cool is that!

Lemon Chicken

My family and I paused when we took a bite. Do we dare compare it to Au's Chop Suey lemon chicken? Yes...and it was broke the mouth (over the top delicious)!

Family in Maui

I love weddings because of the food, fanfare, and nostalgia. I also relish the time to catch up with family you rarely see. I didn't expect to learn how many relatives I have on Maui.

Wedding at the Halekulani Hotel

Anna and I attended a wedding at the most beautiful hotel in Waikiki a couple of years ago and she blurted, "I want to have my wedding at the Halekulani." "Me too!" I answered back.

Happy Birthday Keolapono

May you have a year filled with music, friends, and happiness!

Queen Emma Ballet

Is it a mid life crisis or the need to recapture my youth that compelled me to start ballet? It's only once a week for an hour but an hour of sweat, creaking knees, and pure joy!

Tex Mex NIght

Fresh from Texas and experts on Tex Mex food, the Rainbolts hosted a night of Tex Mex. I believe The Pioneer Woman's version of bean dip is way better than the store bought, prepackaged ones that we grew up eating in the 80s. Refried beans are cooked, homemade pico de gallo is used instead of chopped tomatoes, and a smaller portion is made. Structurally sound and tasty!
