I was inspired to recreate the toast of summer featured in bon appetit. What's even better, I had all the ingredients ready to go. Toasted day old french bread, rubbed with garlic, layered with buttery avocado slices, doused with extra virgin olive oil, and finished with a sprinkling of kosher salt and crushed red pepper flakes. Things couldn't have been any easier or tasted any better. This was a testament of simplicity!
My fascination with cupcakes began on a visit to New York's Magnolia Bakery. Anna and I stood in awe as bakers prepared rows of perfectly shaped cupcakes frosted with a huge mound of pastel shade frosting. What a pretty sight! I am a 39 year old wife and mother from Hawaii.
